Questions & Answers

What inspired you to become a Nurse Practitioner?

On June 26, 1998, my life was changed forever. At age 7, I was diagnosed with cancer and fought for my life. Before my journey, I could not understand how medicine would become my calling. After, I recognized that I needed to pursue the medical field. My medical team was astounding; I realized I wanted to be just like them. Of all my medical staff, I admired my nurses and nurse practitioners the most. They were always so kind and I formed close life long bonds with them!

After I became a nurse, I quickly felt called to do more for my patients and families. So, I returned to school and obtained my Doctorate in Nursing Practice and became a Family Nurse Practitioner!

What is your philosophy on patient care?

Every patient is more than a diagnosis, medical record number, or statistic. My goal is to care for each patient and their family as I would care for my own family and friends.
