Josephine Angulo, LCSW, LCDC is a bilingual Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She earned a master’s degree in Social Work from University of Texas – Arlington with a concentration in mental health and substance abuse. Josephine understands that what works for one, may not work for all. She takes an eclectic approach and caters to specific modalities that best fit the client’s needs.
She loves helping people achieve their full potential and gain insight and awareness. Josephine has had the opportunity to gain experience with a variety of different populations in diverse settings including women’s shelters, neuropsychiatric centers, and geriatrics. She enjoys guiding clients to the best version of themselves and encourages personal growth and healing.

What inspired you to become a licensed clinical social worker?
I was inspired to become a licensed clinical social worker because helping people has always been in my nature. I love to advocate for others and help individuals find their voice. I've always felt that healing is a natural and necessary part of life and being able to help others during that healing process is very rewarding.
What is your philosophy on patient care?
I provide a wide range of approaches to psychotherapy. I like to design the therapeutic process around the client and their needs. Some of the approaches I like to use are CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, trauma-focused, and mindfulness practices.
What brought you to St. Hope?
My interest in St. Hope Foundation came from my desire to grow within a company that would allow me the ability to provide meaningful and consistent work that is valued and appreciated by the entire workforce. I felt that St. Hope would be able to do that while also giving me an opportunity to service and provide resources to underserved populations.
