Dr. LaTrecia Goodie currently serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at St. Hope

Healthcare. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Woman’s University in 2011. She desired autonomy in patient care so she pursued a higher level of education and completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Prairie View A & M University in 2016 and completed the terminal degree in nursing as Doctor of Nursing Practice from Prairie View A & M University in 2022.

Dr. Goodie is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is also credentialed as an American Academy of HIV Medicine Specialist. Some other areas of her clinical experience include Concierge Care, Medical Surgical, Urology, Women’s Health, Pediatrics, and Family Practice. Dr. Goodie’s accolades include receiving the Deans Award for all collegiate degrees. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

What inspired you to become a physician's assistant?

Dr. Goodie was inspired to become a nurse practitioner as a young child after gaining insight on how to access healthcare for improved health outcomes.

What is your philosophy on patient care?

Dr. Goodie’s philosophy on patient care is to foster a healthy therapeutic patient-provider relationship. Dr. Goodie takes pride in helping patients transition from sickness to health and focusing on prevention and wellness. Dr. Goodie believes a therapeutic patient-provider relationship will increase patients’ trust and willingness to communicate, improve adherence to medical recommendations, enhance continuing care, promote patient satisfaction, and ultimately contribute to positive health outcomes.

What brought you to St. Hope?

Dr. Goodie was drawn to St. Hope Healthcare as she was interested in treating infectious diseases on a continuum. Working at St Hope Healthcare would allow to expand clinical expertise and care for an underserved patient population.
