Javier Medina, MSW, LMSW currently serves as the Assistant Director of Case Management and as a Clinical Case Manager at St. Hope Foundation. He is a licensed master social worker in the state of Texas. Javier has more than 10 years of work experience in the Houston nonprofit industry. He provides services in English and Spanish.
Javier received his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work, with a concentration in Gerontology. For his graduate college field practice, Javier completed field education at Avenue 360 and The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD. Javier earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas State University – San Marcos.
When providing psychotherapy, Javier approaches his treatment modality on evidence-based practice, in conjunction with a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s needs. Javier favors an eclectic therapeutic modality. However, the principle of meeting the patient where they are may guide Javier’s therapeutic approach to a more concentrated treatment modality like CBT, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy.
