Willie Sylvester

A warm, gracious smile with a hearty laugh reminds us of Willie. For more than two decades, Willie marched passionately to the drumbeat of serving many impacted by HIV/AIDS. He was a quiet champion while present in the arena; he gave his all making sure humanity and dignity were forged for a marginalized community.

For more than 2 years Willie served on the board of directors of St. Hope Foundation. Rarely did he miss a meeting. He proudly wore the SHF brand sharing with others the incredible work happening at the organization. Not only did he speak highly of St. Hope, he loved fundraising and community engagements. Before joining the board, Willie collaborated on several key community projects with St. Hope. You could find him often speaking highly of the organization’s leadership.

As we remember our fondest memories, we know Willie ran his life race to the fullest. His compassion and love for others will forever be inscribed in our hearts.

Rest in Heaven our dear friend!
