We have all experienced that dreadful moment when our favorite piece of clothing decides to just give out on us. That moment your favorite shirt shrinks in the wash or your best fitting pair of jeans split. It can feel like wreckless abandonment. And now, here you are left to replace the irreplaceable. This can be a frustrated and seemingly impossible task.
Over the years, I have learned to invest a little more in the clothing that I wear most. That does not necessarily mean it has to be an expensive item. It means that you pay more attention to detail at the time of purchase. Most clothing, as well as shoes, do not last as long as they could because proper care and maintenance is ignored. Always read the care tag when purchasing an item. If you do not have the time or extra money to hand wash or dry clean as suggested, reconsider the purchase. Improper care will shorten the lifespan of the garment and you will not get as much value from it, especially one that your splurged on. So remember, invest in your favorites. Read the care tags and treat accordingly. If you are good to them, they will be good to you. Continuing to help you look and feel your best, while giving you more bang for your buck.
