Dr. Kimberly Sherard, DNP, NP-C, AAHIVM is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and certified in HIV Medicine. She is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2010 and 2012 respectively, from Concordia University Wisconsin. Dr. Sherard’s nursing career began over 20 years ago in Women’s Health as a staff nurse in the hospital setting, eventually transitioning into ambulatory care. She also served as an Adjunct Professor of for the Master of Nursing Program at Alverno College in Wisconsin.
Dr. Sherard’s extensive clinical experience includes primary medical care and HIV medicine. Dr. Sherard believes in self efficacy, “an individual’s belief in his or her capacity to execute behaviors necessary to produce specific performance attainments”. She trusts that patients have the confidence and ability to exercise control over their own motivation and behaviors related to their health care.
Dr. Sherard has served in a leadership capacity on several national and state health planning bodies. In 2008 she received a distinguished recognition in Wisconsin for her tireless work in the healthcare arena. She is also a published author, and in her spare time, she enjoys traveling and gardening.
