[YOUR HEALTH] Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment Ends March 31st. Are You Covered?

The deadline for purchasing health insurance under the Obama Administration’s Affordable Care Act is March 31. After that, only a qualifying event — the birth of a child, a divorce, a job loss, for example — will allow most Americans to get health insurance for the rest of the year. Some populations, such as American Indians in federally recognized tribes, can enroll any time.

Enrollment isn’t expected again until Nov. 15, and even policies sold then won’t be effective until Jan. 1, 2015.
