340B Program Makes Health Care More Accessible

The 340B program was created by Congress in the early 90’s to help patients gain access to needed prescription medicines. The program requires pharmaceutical manufacturers to provide steep discounts to clinics, like those here at St. Hope Foundation, as a condition of their drugs being covered by Medicaid. The 340B program is a huge a benefit to the most vulnerable and/or uninsured members of our community. St. Hope believes that all people should have access to quality health care and medication.

Nourhane Badawi, PharmD, Director of Pharmacy here at St. Hope, sat down with us to talk about some of the advantages of the 340B program and how patients are benefiting.
