Dr. Cecilia Louise McKeown-Biagas, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, is the Medical Director and Principal Investigator for St. Hope Foundation. Dr. McKeown-Biagas is a diplomat (Board Certified) of the American Board of Family Medicine and had been practicing since 1992. She began her educational career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors (Magna cum laude). She obtained her Medical Degree (M.D.) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine; relocated to Texas, and completed her Medical Residency in Family Practice at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
Her nurturing and compassionate spirit led to her Family Medicine as her chosen field. She enjoys forming bonds with her patients and families, and the gratification it brings to have an impact, whether large or small, on a patient’s over-all well being – emotional as well as physical. She is a staunch advocate for patient education, which ultimately leads to more active and informed participation in personal healthcare. She feels that knowledge is powerful and strengthening!
Dr. McKeown-Biagas has served as Physician and Clinic Director for several clinics across greater Houston, acquiring many skills and developing a strong understanding of ethnic and cultural differences in diseases and methods of treatment for various populations of patients. She has active privileges at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital and is a provider for many health insurance plans.
Dr. Mckeown-Biagas is also one of the most successful Clinical Researchers in the country. She has served as Principal Investigator for many of the major pharmaceutical companies since 2000. In addition to contributing to the medical advancement in patient healthcare, Dr. McKeown-Biagas has been able to assist patients with chronic medical illnesses in obtaining free healthcare and medication via clinical research.
Dr. Mckeown-Biagas lives in Sugar Land, Texas. Her interests include gardening, cooking, music (jazz & gospel), inspirational reading, self; home improvement activities, shopping and spending time with her family.
